Transitions

There is a long list of transitions that happen in our life span. Some are of our own choice, while others may seem sudden and unexpected. One can expect big changes as we meet our developmental milestones like graduating and starting a job. But others are not as expected, like an illness, end of a committed relationship, change in our sexual orientation, changing jobs or careers or moving to a new town/province or country. Most often a transition can be life changing and after that change we reinvent ourselves. These transitions are difficult because they move us from the predictable and familiar into unfamiliar and different. Humans can adapt to change but it can be challenging. Depending on the transition and what difficulties it creates for us, it can be a time that we experience anxiety and grief associated with the transition.
Approach
Transitions provide us with the wonderful opportunity to change and grow. Working with people to realize their potential during a change is work I really, really enjoy. Drawing on some of the more spiritual concepts I see transitions as the pheonix rising from the ashes. We work together to find what behaviours roles or self concept you can let go of, and work to build a more authentic and congruent self. A central theme of all my work is helping people to be the best version of themselves and to live an authentic life.
